Cushioning

• EVA Footbed

  Benefit: Super soft, allowing the foot to relax.

  What is it: Very soft EVA foam.

  Where is it: Top layer of the sandal.

• Plantar Fascia Groove

  Benefit: Provides relief from plantar fascia strain.

  What is it: A groove carved into the firm base layer to allow the softer top layer to compress under pressure.

  Where is it: On the bottom of the shoe directly underneath the plantar fascia.

Stability

• Cup Heel

  Benefit: Helps to align the foot.

  What is it: Wrap around the heel on an open toe sandal.

  Where is it: Heel of the footbed.

• Dual Density

  Benefit: Restricts harmful over-pronation (foot rolling inwards and arch collapsing). On stability trainers, it also provides lateral stability (restricts ankle roll) in typical side-to-side motion dynamics in court and grass sports.

  What is it: A firmer density midsole foam.

  Where is it: Over-Pronation restricting dual density is on the medial part of the midsole of the shoe. Lateral support dual density extends from the medial arch, right around the heel to the lateral side of the midsole of the shoe.

  Benefit: Offloads the Achilles tendon

  What is it: Raised footbed from heel to toe.

  Where is it: Base layer of the sandal.

• Orthotic Footbed

  Benefit: Contoured to the shape of the foot for maximum support.

  What is it: Firm base layer contoured to the shape of the foot.

  Where is it: Base layer of the sandal from heel to forefoot.

Upper

• Hook and Loop Fastener

  Benefit: Provide a custom fit for the developing foot. A rubber lug included in junior cross trainers for extra durability.

  What is it: Closure used on junior shoes for easy on and off. Used in combination with elastic laces on cross trainers

  Where is it: On top of the upper in the place of a traditional lace.
